Part 1: Self-Health Assessment

From the interview conducted with Millie, she is suffering from an injury that she had on her leg. This has hindered her from engaging in various social activities that she would have wanted to attend. Currently, her leg has been fixed with the use of wires and metal plates. These are used to hold all the fractured bones in place and to enable her to normalcy again. However, she still requires the use of a crutch support. She is sad about the fact that people are not willing to help her move around or listen to her needs, including the doctors (Van der Elst, De Casterlé & Gastmans, 2012). Some of her doctors are tired of listening to her problems every time this causes her to become lonely severally. Before she hurt her leg, she was in a position to ride the bus by herself and even hang out with her friends. Right now, she is only confined to her house with minimal movements.

Part 2: Focussed Assessment

The injury that Millie was hindering her from regular movements such as buying food items from the store. This means that she is not in a position to eat healthy meals as required. Her injury has also prevented her from cooking her meals at home. This may cause a major health issue of malnutrition and various health related complications (Dyess, Chase & Newlin, 2010). Millie used to depend on her neighbors to do her shopping for her, but she was also admitted to hospital on some health issues. For this reason, Millie often finds it difficult to move around and get her shopping done. There is a great risk of her being malnutrition and lacking vital nutrients that her body needs to recover fully and remain healthy. As a result, her health status may continue to deteriorate with time and ultimately slow down with the recovery process.

Part 3: Internet Health Resources

Malnutrition is a major challenge for Millie. This is the lack of having adequate nutrients in the body. This mainly occurs when an individual is not eating nutrients in their daily meals. It is important that people get meals that have the right amount of calories and proteins to sustain daily growth and development (World Food Program, 2016). The treatment of malnutrition is entirely dependent on the level of severity that is associated with the patient. In the case of Millie, she is currently experiencing constipation instances, which can also be a symptom of the health issue. However, the proposed treatment plan can be applied to Millie’s situation as well. It requires that Millie gets on a diet plan with the help of another individual because she is not able to prepare food for herself. The care plan will provide a good diet for her, which she can follow every day (NHS, 2016). Her body is becoming weaker by the day, which means that she requires more specialized treatment as the days go by.

Conclusion

Millie is suffering from having a broken leg. This has hindered her physical movements and an opportunity to execute some of the daily activities that she undertakes. Millie feels like nobody wants to help her anymore. She would like to spend some time hanging out with her friends like she used to before she got hurt. The medication she is taking is causing her to suffer from constipation. However, getting a good diet plan can be a good way to which she can help to solve this problem. Getting a good diet has been challenging for her because she is not able to go to the store and buy healthy food.
