Purpose of Airworthiness review

Airworthiness brings into conformity the sense that the design that has been approved i.e. the parts of the craft is in the condition of good operational safety and that it cannot endanger the life of any individual or the flight. Airworthiness review is about all the craft requirements in terms of the compliances that have to be put in place so that they cannot endanger the safety of a particular flight. Cases of fire on the flight can also be reduced through the airworthiness review process. Tests are done to know how flammable the materials that have been used are. The extent of damage also has to be determined. Materials that are less flammable have to be rapidly used to improve on the safety on the aircraft. Bird strikes can lead into an accident but this is a preventable. When the bird strikes the wings of the aircraft, it can be easily drawn into the engine and it will definitely spark a fire. The materials that have to be used must be designed in a way that is able to withstand any force from the bird and at the same time not be able to lose any amount from the violent push from the birds. Airworthiness Review procedure

The things that should be included in carrying out the airworthiness review are the trainings expected to be conducted to the inspection officer. The training should be in a way that can be able to bring about efficacy to the aviation industry. Better trainings bring about efficacy to the trained individuals.

Modifications that can be carried out in an aircraft have to be included. Greater and in-depth analysis has to be done the modifications to improve on the desired results. These modifications have to be approved by the approval board. The environmental impacts should also be put into consideration. Emissions from the engines have impacts to the environment thus some modifications have to be done to the engines to reduce the emissions. Noise pollution is another case where some modifications can be done. The people living near an airport are showing fewer interests to the noises by airplanes during landing or even take off. The effective perceived noise in decibels (EPNbB) is the best way to measure the noise that is being heard by a certain individual. An ultra-high bypass ration engine has to in use as this effectively helps in noise reduction by the engines. To reduce the noise that is being heard by the passengers, a phonic material can be used and it can easily soak up liquids. This is ideally used on the inner surfaces of the aircraft. The review should comply with the existing standards (Jia, 2007).

The existing manual should be revised from time to time. This revision will help to bring about precision in the required field of aviation. A manual should also be revised with respect to be respective aircraft as opposed to using a generalized manual for the different aircrafts. A service delivery platform should be included in the airworthiness review. This will help in improve the services offered by a particular airline. This is especially on the side of the cabin crew. Exemplary training should be offered to the cabin crew members. With a service delivery charter, all the staff can comply with all the set obligations. Life will not be endangered thereafter. If there are deviations or changes, they have to be approved by the civil aviation safety authority (CASA). The maintenance organizations have to show commitment towards approving the reviews. Airworthiness review employee

On the side of qualifications of the “airworthiness review employee”, various parameters have to be put in place in order to get the best competent individuals. An airworthy review employee must be able show and uphold safe working conditions and practice the same throughout the entire period and beyond. They have to be able to show exemplary commitment and work under minimal or no supervision. The AW employee should have experience that does not go below five years. The individual must have an aeronautical degree as well as training on the maintenance of an aircraft. A certification from the air operators certification board (ACC)

The period of time that the “airworthiness review certificate” is in force and the conditions for an extension is as follows. Aircraft review certificates are made such that the regulation is meant for them to function for a period of twelve months. An aircraft company is required to process another aircraft review certificate before the one they have expires on the due date. If they are not able to process another one, they can file a motion on extension of the current review certificate they have. However, for an aircraft review certificate to be extended it should have remained in a controlled environment for twelve months according to aircrafts regulations. Aircraft review certificates can be extended for only two years, more than that an aircraft company is required to process a new certificate and it should be within the stipulated rules. The member states registry has to be first given the information within a period of 72 hours. A period of one year is an ideal one as it puts companies under check. This will help bring more improvements to the aircraft sector as well increase efficacy as well as the validity of the aircraft.

The civil aviation authority (CAA) is tasked with regulating the aviation industry. International standards have to be adhered to by all the respective authorities(ICAO, 2006). They will then be able to ensure that safety is the key priority and should always be maintained in the aviation industry. Conclusion

An “airworthiness review certificate” can only be issued if all the necessary steps and procedures have been followed. The certificate cannot be issued if not all the stipulated regulations and rules have been followed. With the continued change in technology, better and new ways of aircraft safety have to be devised. Reviews and modifications should always be given room as they help to advance and improve the aviation sector. The aviation industry has great influence to many aspects of life. What is paramount is the safety of the aircraft.
