Her diabetes is poorly controlled and she does not check her blood sugar regularly. Amelia has developed an arterial ulcer on her left lower leg and she attends the local doctor clinic three times a week for the nurse to dress and assess the ulcer. She has developed decreased mobility as the ulcer causes her lower leg pain when ambulating

Type II diabetes is a condition that, if poorly managed, can significantly reduce the quality of life of a patient. Therefore, this program can be used to empower the patient and help her to deal better with her condition (Garber et al, 2013).The patient is suffering from an arterial ulcer probably caused by the diabetic disorder which gives her difficulty in movement. Her weight has been noted to have significantly increased in a relatively short time, which can lead to other complications. She also complains of lack of energywhich is a typical symptom of diabetes mellitus type II.This combination of health conditions makes the client’s life difficult at her age.This learning program is developed to assist the client to manage her diabetic condition and improve the quality of her life.

Type II diabetes is a metabolic disorder that causes the body to be unable to properly use insulin. Despite the pancreas producing insulin normally, the disorder creates the impression of a relative insufficiency. When characterized by insulin resistance, the condition causes cells to respond poorly to the presence of insulin and may cause the level of sugar in the blood to rise.
